Blue Ridge Special Management Area Elk Hunt

Special Access Elk Hunt on Blue Ridge

Blue Ridge is divided into two areas: the Blue Ridge Special Management Area and the Burnt Lodge Type 1 Block Management Area.

Hunting on the Blue Ridge Special Management Area is restricted to bull elk through a special access drawing for hunters who hold 620-20, 620-21, 622-20, or cow elk for youth hunters who hold 699-01 elk tags.

All other hunters may access the Blue Ridge property through two designated walk-in routes to adjacent public land (as seen on the map below).

In 2026, archery hunters will be assigned 4 day windows to hunt and rifle hunters will be assigned 3 day windows to hunt. Two opportunities will be held for residents of Valley County, and two opportunities will be held for residents of Phillips County.

The 2026 Blue Ridge Special Management Area elk hunt application is now LIVE through July 3, 2026. Applicants will be notified with a successful or unsuccessful drawing by July 24, 2026.
