WHAT
Join our Prairie Clean-Up Crew to help restore open, connected landscapes for wildlife and people alike. This work goes beyond the surface – it’s about tackling the legacy of human impact across the prairie. Depending on the project, tasks may include:
- Removing and modifying barbed wire fence to support wildlife movement
- Tagging existing fence lines for migrating wildlife
- Pulling posts, rolling wire, and hauling materials by hand (tools will be provided)
- Removing old structures, debris, and waste from the landscape
- Mowing, raking, clearing of brush and vegetation to improve habitat
WHERE
Mars Vista will be the location of the July fieldwork.
Volunteers will camp at Antelope Creek Campgrounds, with 4 cabins reserved and multiple campsites also available.
WHEN
One 5-day volunteer trip from July 6th-10th (Monday – Friday)
- July 6th: Arrival
- July 7th through 9th: Fieldwork
- July 10th: Departure

WHO
We are looking for enthusiastic, hardworking volunteers who:
- Are able to walk several miles of prairie terrain while carrying equipment (up to 30 lbs.)
- Enjoy spending time immersed in – and learning from – the prairie ecosystem
- Must be 18 and over to participate.
