American Prairie was proud to host author and University of Montana philosophy professor Christopher J. Preston at the National Discovery Center to discuss his book, Tenacious Beasts: Wildlife Recoveries That Change How We Think about Animals. The book, which was selected as winner of the 2024 High Plains Book Award, shares stories of hope and conservation success from a number of animals that have defied extinction, including humpback whales in the Atlantic, Marsican brown bears in Italy, and bison in North America.
