WHO
We are looking for a social, reliable volunteer who:

Looks forward to talking with the public

Thrives on engaging interpersonally and connecting with others

Has enthusiasm for American Prairie’s mission and values

Can learn and explain American Prairie’s goals and initiatives, share knowledge of the geographic area, and suggest ways that visitors can explore the prairie
WHAT
-
Perform a friendly and enthusiastic welcome to National Discovery Center visitors
-
Provide visitors with an overview of American Prairie’s work and goals
-
Recommend day trips and driving routes for visitors to visit the prairie
-
Help visitors navigate the NDC’s exhibit spaces, theater, and children’s area
-
Assist with NDC programming, including hosting and set-up for speaker events, school groups, and other education events
-
Respond to visitor inquiries and questions
-
Assist with other organizational tasks
WHERE
The National Discovery Center is located on the corner of 3rd and Main in downtown Lewistown, Montana.
WHEN
The National Discovery Center is open Thursday – Saturday, requiring volunteers during all of those days. There is flexibility in the volunteering frequency, including:

Weekly shifts (e.g., every Thursday)

Monthly shifts (e.g., first Saturday in each month)

Term positions (e.g., month of June)
